As more RPG rounds flared into existence, one struck the lead Humvee, miraculously it did not destroy the vehicle. Scorched and un bowed it continued down the road, then two more rounds struck home, blowing the front axle clear off the vehicle. The crew died as more ak rounds penetrated the ruptured shell of the vehicle.
