GCACW Double Blind: Enemy Courses of Action
The Enemy always gets a vote. ENCOA Courses of Action
When I look at a wargame I filter on the VP conditions, the history but also the important player[s]. Our Enemies Leadership.
Who are they, what are their mind sets, style of play etc. We face two retired Lt Colonels.
A couple of Norwegians and an Aussie [ defensive player, conservative player] 1 American that we know of.
Rumour has it the Colonels are seeking some faded glory? OR perhaps some revenge for not making General? :) . I kid.
But I was warned they are bringing their A game. I suspect these COL will actually be conservative and cautious. Its built in at their DNA level.
Situation
The key for us I suspect is to anticipate a significantly more aggressive McClellan than what happened historically, but not one that gets ‘funky’ unless our Umpire mitigates that. OR that there are different release schedules. But given there are just 8 turns. This does not seem likely.
What are options for the Union?
Option A
is largely historical but advanced in timing. Retake Frederick.
Push through to Harpers Ferry assuming we will go there and seek a decisive battle.
Option B
Send one or more Corps to strike at our supply lines, which when we re-check supply on the 13th will cause massive issues and losing the county costs us 8 VP’s as well.
Option C
Seek a route to Harpers Ferry south of Rebels and screen the bulk of the Rebel army with One or more Corps, and reinforce Harper, while looking again for a battle with 2-3 Corps in and around Harper Ferry area.
Other Options, as a updated note they of course could have done more than one option at a time.
